Canada Day Mini-Parade and Decorate Your Home Contest

Canada Day Mini-Parade

Since the annual Canada Day parade is canceled, the City of Fort Saskatchewan is bringing the parade to your front door! We have identified a number of neighborhoods that we will be driving through with our mini-parade consisting of our two new fire trucks (Sparkles and Blaze), the City of Fort Saskatchewan parade float, a public works vehicle with message board, and a lead camera vehicle. The lead vehicle will have a GoPro Camera mounted to it and will capture everyone celebrating and watching the mini-parade from the front of their homes. The view captured will be live streamed through Facebook Live on the Fort Saskatchewan Facebook home page.

Since the route will be a surprise, citizens will know that the parade is making its way through their neighborhood by listening for sirens and a megaphone announcement. Thank you to PME for sponsoring the mini-parade.

Decorate Your Home Contest

We invite all citizens to show Canadian pride by decorating front windows, lawns, balconies, doors, garage pads and garage doors or whatever you may have at the front of your home. Upload photos of decorated homes to the Fort Saskatchewan Canada Day Facebook event page and tag the City along with @ShellScotford in the post. The top 10 most creatively decorated homes will receive a prize package! Entries will be accepted until noon, July 1, 2020.

Thank you to Shell Scotford for sponsoring the Canada Day decorate your home contest.
