Residents are encouraged to sign up to receive significant and time sensitive emergency alerts affecting the City of Fort Saskatchewan. This state-of-the-art and critically acclaimed municipal mass communication system will keep you up-to-date in the event of an emergency.

The Fort Sask Alert System will issue messages about emergency alerts (immediate threat to safety and well-being of some/all Fort Saskatchewan residents), severe weather warnings and watches (sent when Environment Canada issues weather alerts) and public safety notifications, including water, fire, RCMP and transportation alerts.

No Subscription = No Notification

The Fort Sask Alert System sends emergency messages to voluntary subscribers. Subscribers can choose to receive messages through any or all of the following ways:

  • home phone
  • work phone
  • cell phone
  • email
  • text messages

If you require further assistance or have questions about the Fort Sask Alert System, email or call 780-992-6236.

Customized Notifications and Mass Registrations

Residents will also be able to customize their notifications to receive information about events that may affect their home, workplace, family's schools and more.

Additionally one subscriber can sign up other members of his or her family. For example when Mrs. Jones subscribes to the Fort Sask Alert System, she can also register Mr. Jones and her two teenagers to receive emergency notifications. All Mrs. Jones has to provide is the specific contact information, i.e. Cell phone number and/or email address of her husband and two children.

Unrivalled Technology and Expertise

The Fort Sask Alert System is powered by Everbridge. The alert system has been used by organizations in more than 100 countries for emergency notification and day-to-day incident communication. For example, when Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast in October 2012 the City of Boston used the Everbridge system to communicate with residents during the storm. As Sandy battered the East Coast, Everbridge sent more than 10 million critical alerts.
