Beat the Winter Blues at the Blue Monday Comedy Special
The third Monday in January is often called Blue Monday, a time when cold weather, post-holiday bills, and limited sunlight can take a toll on many people. To help lift spirits and create opportunities for connection, the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is presenting an evening of laughter at the Blue Monday Comedy Special.
Thanks to the generous support of Pembina, tickets are available for just $5, with any proceeds supporting local mental health programming. This marks the fourth year FCSS has hosted the Blue Monday Comedy Special, and last year’s event sold out, so residents are encouraged to get their tickets early.
This year’s lineup features an outstanding roster of comedians, headlined by Kevin Stobo, with Sean Lecomber returning as emcee. The show will also include performances by Faris Hytiaa, Kelly Taylor, and Tesh Aytenfisu, ensuring a night full of energy and humour.
“January can be a tough month of the year. A mix of cold weather, darkness, and financial stress can leave us feeling heavy. An evening full of laughter, comedy, and connection helps us to flip the script together on Blue Monday,” says Amber Grant, Social Planning Coordinator with FCSS Fort Saskatchewan.
Guests must be 18+ to attend. Drinks will be available for purchase, and local community group Men’s Shed will also be onsite.
