City Releases Proposed 2026 Budget Focused on Infrastructure and Managing Growth

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has posted its proposed 2026 Operating and Capital Budget, reflecting a continued commitment to building a resilient and sustainable community.

Message from the City Manager

“The City of Fort Saskatchewan’s 2026 Operating and Capital Budget demonstrate our dedication to fostering a resilient and forward-thinking community,” said Troy Fleming, City Manager. “Key priorities include increased infrastructure renewal, and addressing impacts due to inflation and growth pressures. We are also continuing to make strategic investments in new infrastructure, including the building of the new aquatic facility and the design of the new fire station. This budget reflects our focus on sustainable growth and maintaining a high quality of life for all residents.”

Public Viewing Opportunities

All budget presentations to council will be streamed live from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on the City’s YouTube channel on the following dates:

  • Monday, November 17, 2025 (Capital Budget) 
  • Thursday, November 20, 2025 (Capital Budget) 
  • Tuesday, November 25, 2025 (Operating Budget) 
  • Friday, November 28, 2025 (Operating Budget) 

Council is scheduled to approve the 2026 Operating and Capital Budget on December 9, 2025.
