Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland in the Fort is back, offering a relaxed and festive afternoon for all ages. Join us on December 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Fort Heritage Precinct for a free, drop-in celebration that brings the season to life.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Holiday crafts for kids

  • Seasonal storytime

  • Warm hot chocolate and classic candy canes

  • Fire pits throughout the site

  • Time to explore the historic Fort and enjoy the atmosphere

Winter Registration is Open!

Winter Activity Kits Available to Borrow

Looking for ways to enjoy the outdoors this winter? The City offers three types of Winter Activity Kits, free to borrow for a five-day period. Each kit comes packed with gear to help you explore, play and make the most of the season. Options include snowshoes and trail maps, trekking poles and shoe spikes, or a family-focused kit with toboggans, snowball makers and kids’ skates.

These kits are a great way to try something new without the cost of buying equipment.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is working to improve sustainability in many areas, including reducing paper use. Property owners can now receive their Assessment and Taxation communications by email.

Switching to email delivery is a reliable and environmentally friendly option that also helps reduce printing and mailing costs. It ensures you receive your notices right away, even if regular mail service experiences delays.

Assessment notices are sent in January each year, so sign up now to make sure you receive yours on time.

The Enchanted Forest is Open

The Enchanted Forest has officially returned, bringing a festive glow to City Hall, the Dow Centennial Centre, and the Shell Theatre. This beloved Fort Saskatchewan tradition features Christmas trees designed and decorated by local organizations and businesses, each one unique and full of personality.

The display runs from November 28, 2025 to January 7, 2026, giving you plenty of time to stop by, explore each location, and enjoy a little holiday magic.

Transit Holiday Service - Christmas Holidays

Fort Sask Transit local and commuter services will not operate on Christmas or Boxing Day, December 25 and 26, 2025 or New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026. 

Regular service on routes 600, 610, and 611 will operate from December 29 to December 31, 2025 and January 2, 2026.
