West River's Edge and Disc Golf Course Access Notice

West River’s Edge will host the 2026 Alberta Summer Games Mountain Biking competition from July 16 - 19.

During this time, some areas of the park will have temporary access restrictions to support the event and ensure safety for athletes and spectators.

Please note the following impacts:

  • Trail access between the Boat Launch and the Dog Park will be restricted.
  • The West River’s Edge Pavilion will be closed.
  • The Dog Park will remain open.
  • Parking near the Pavilion will be restricted.
  • The disc golf course will be closed for the duration of the weekend.

Spectators are welcome to attend the event, but admission to the mountain biking venue is ticketed. Visit asg2026.com for admission details, schedules, and event information.

Escape at the Fort

Can You Break Them Out?

Your accomplice has been captured by the Northwest Mounted Police, and a mysterious letter suggests there's a spare set of keys hidden somewhere in the Fort. The clock is ticking, and it's up to your team to crack the clues before time runs out.

Escape at the Fort is an immersive escape room experience where teams work together to solve puzzles, uncover hidden clues, and break their friend out of custody. Race against other teams to see who can escape first.

Dates: August 13, 14, 20 & 21
Time: 7:00 pm
Duration: Approximately 90 minutes
Cost: $25 per person (groups of 2 to 5)
Ages: 12+

Summer Specialty Tours at the Fort Heritage Precinct

Guided themed tours exploring architecture, nature, homes, and true crime.

Step inside historic buildings, explore the river valley, and uncover the darker side of Fort Saskatchewan with a series of Summer Specialty Tours at Fort Heritage Precinct.

Choose from four unique guided experiences:

  • The Modern Flammable Home (August 1): Discover the hidden fire hazards of historic homes.
  • Wood & Glass Architecture (July 18 & August 8): Explore the craftsmanship, materials, and design of heritage buildings.
  • Flora & Fauna (July 25 & August 15): Learn about local plants, trails, and the natural history of the river valley.
  • Crime Tour (18+): Sold Out

Tours run approximately 60 to 90 minutes and are $13 per person (GST included).

Drop-in tours are available, space permitting. Crime Tours require reservations.

Childminding & Indoor Play at the Dow Centennial Centre

Stay active while the kids are close by at the Dow Centennial Centre.

amilies have access to both supervised childminding and a free indoor play space, making it easier to enjoy recreation time for everyone.

Auggie’s Place Childminding offers safe, supervised care for children newborn to 8 years. Care is available in 30-minute intervals (up to a maximum of 2 hours) and is open to both members and non-members, with discounted punch passes available. Service is first come, first served, and parents/guardians must remain in the facility while their child is in care. Fees apply.

The Connect Hearing Peek Caboose Play Station is a free indoor play space for children. Visitors are asked to check in at the front desk before use.

Public Notice: Sale of Public Land

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is proposing to dispose land along the northern boundary of NE1/4-13-54-23-4, between Highway 21 and Willow Link. This portion of road right-of-way is undeveloped, not used for vehicular traffic, and is currently naturalized with trees and grass. The proposed land sale area is irregular in shape and is approximately 520 – 760m in length by 16 – 40m in width, with an area of 2.56 ha (6.33 acres), as shown in Attachment A. 

These lands are to be developed in accordance with the Pointe Aux Pins Area Structure Plan.

This notice is issued in accordance with the Municipal Government Act to inform the public about the sale.

Those wishing to file a petition in response to this sale must do so by July 21, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
