Keep Kids Moving This Spring Break at the Dow Centennial Centre

Keep kids active over spring break with No School Fun Days at the Dow Centennial Centre. Drop-in activities run Monday, March 23 to Friday, March 27, with something for all ages.

From basketball and badminton to soccer, volleyball, and Nerf Wars, there are plenty of ways to stay moving. Younger children can enjoy Kinder Time and Tot Time, while older kids can jump into open gym play.

Children seven years and younger must be accompanied by someone 14 years of age or older.

We Are Wintering Exhibition

Experience the quiet creativity of winter at We Are Wintering, a new exhibition by the Society of Fort Saskatchewan Artists at the Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery in the Dow Centennial Centre.

The exhibit features a collection of works that explore reflection, memory, and the creative spark that often emerges during the stillness of the winter season. The Society of Fort Saskatchewan Artists brings together local artists of all experience levels and continues to play an important role in supporting and showcasing the region’s creative community.

The exhibition runs March 5 - April 6, 2026, with an Artist Meet & Greet on March 26 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.

The gallery is open Thursday and Friday, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, and during most events. For general information about the gallery and exhibit, contact the front desk at 780-992-6400. Mounties and Monsters: A New Role-Playing Experience

Step into the March West through a tabletop role‑playing game for young adults at the Fort Heritage Precinct. Across four sessions, participants become members of the North West Mounted Police, facing historic challenges and imaginative storytelling inspired by the Canadian West.

In the game, “monsters” symbolize real environmental and survival obstacles such as prairie storms, river crossings, disease, exhaustion, scarce supplies, and isolation, alongside imaginative creatures inspired by Indigenous folklore that add depth and creativity to the story.

This program is beginner friendly and all materials are provided. For ages 14-21.

Groundbreaking Marks Start of New Aquatic Facility

On March 18, the City celebrated the official groundbreaking of the new aquatic facility at the Dow Centennial Centre. Mayor Lisa Makin joined Council, project partners, and community members for a ceremonial “shovels in the dirt” event, including a symbolic water pour using water from Harbour Pool.

Once complete, the expanded facility will feature upgraded pools, enhanced aquatic programming, and welcoming community spaces for residents of all ages. Construction is expected to take 18–24 months.
