Fort’s Summer Send-Off brings Free Family Fun to the Labour Day Weekend

Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the end of summer with a full day of free, family-friendly fun at Fort’s Summer Send-Off on Saturday, August 30, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Fort Heritage Precinct.

This year’s event brings together three Fort Saskatchewan favourites in one memorable day: the Sheep Leaving ParadeAlberta Day celebrations, and a special 150th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the North West Mounted Police.

Visitors can look forward to live entertainment, food trucks, historical demonstrations, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

“Fort’s Summer Send-Off is one of those events that truly captures the spirit of our community — fun, welcoming, and full of local character,” said Mayor Gale Katchur. “From the Sheep Leaving Parade to Alberta Day, and this year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 150 years since the arrival of the North West Mounted Police — marking an important chapter in our City’s history. I encourage everyone to come out and be part of this unique day.”
