Fort Sask Seeks Public Input on New Aquatics Centre Features

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is inviting residents to have their say in shaping the planning of a new Aquatics Centre to be built at the Dow Centennial Centre. A public survey is now open, allowing residents to rank key features that matter most to them.

The survey will help the City better understand community preferences for a new facility to meet the needs of residents of all ages. Participants will be asked to rank features in several categories, including:

  • Lap Pool Features – Enhancements for the lap pool area.
  • Leisure/Tot Pool Features –Enhancements for the leisure/tot pool area.
  • Additional Aquatic Features – Water-based elements beyond the confirmed features.
  • Activity-Based Additions – Recreational and fitness-oriented options for programming.
  • Dryland Spaces – Non-water areas designed for relaxation, viewing, or rentals.

“We want this facility to reflect what’s most important to our community,” said Kayla Dow, DCC Expansion Project Coordinator. “By participating in the survey, residents have the opportunity to share their priorities on the features they think should be considered for a new aquatics facility.”

The survey will be available online at fortsask.ca/AquaticsSurvey starting February 18 until March 5, 2025. Residents are encouraged to explore the Learning Centre on the website before taking the survey to better understand the proposed features and options. Community input will help shape the future of aquatics in Fort Saskatchewan—visit the site today to learn more and have your say!
