Community Announcement - Fort Saskatchewan has a New RCMP Detachment Commander
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the appointment of Staff Sergeant Scott Lande as the new Detachment Commander and Officer in Charge of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP. Staff Sergeant Lande has been serving in the acting role for over a year, providing strong and consistent leadership to the detachment and ensuring continuity in policing services for our community.
Staff Sergeant Lande brings extensive operational and leadership experience to the role. Prior to his time in Fort Saskatchewan, he served as the District Advisory Non-Commissioned Officer for the Central Alberta District, where he provided strategic and operational support across 24 detachments, working closely with frontline members and senior leadership. His background also includes significant experience in crime reduction, having served as a Sergeant in charge of the General Investigation Section and Drug Unit in Leduc, as well as Unit Commander of the Crime Reduction Unit in Central Alberta District.
Developing people has been a central focus throughout Staff Sergeant Lande’s career, and his leadership style reflects a strong commitment to supporting and empowering members. He is recognized for fostering a positive work environment and encouraging RCMP members to take pride in the important role they play in serving the community. Staff Sergeant Lande is community-focused, with a strong appreciation for the partnerships that contribute to public safety in Fort Saskatchewan.
We are very pleased to officially welcome Staff Sergeant Lande to the role on a permanent basis. His familiarity with the community, established relationships, and proven leadership will enable him to hit the ground running as Detachment Commander. We look forward to continuing to work together to support the safety and well-being of all residents in Fort Saskatchewan.
