Fort Saskatchewan Minor Baseball Receives Tourism Hosting Grant for U11 AA Provincials

Fort Saskatchewan Minor Baseball has been awarded $3,000 through the City of Fort Saskatchewan's Tourism Hosting Grant program to support the 2026 U11 AA Provincial Championships, taking place July 24 – 26, 2026 at Turner Park Ball Diamond.

The tournament will welcome young athletes, coaches, families and spectators from across Alberta for a weekend of competitive baseball, bringing visitors to Fort Saskatchewan while showcasing the community and supporting local businesses.

Residents are encouraged to come out, cheer on the teams, and enjoy an exciting weekend of provincial baseball.

The City's Tourism Hosting Grant program provides funding to eligible non-profit organizations that host events attracting visitors to Fort Saskatchewan. By supporting tournaments, festivals and other tourism-focused events, the program helps generate economic activity while promoting the city as a destination for sports, culture and recreation.

"We're incredibly grateful for the City's support through the Tourism Hosting Grant," said Jason Geiger, President of Fort Saskatchewan Minor Baseball. "This funding plays a key role in helping us bring this tournament to life. We're excited to welcome teams and families from across Alberta to Fort Saskatchewan for a weekend of great baseball while showcasing our community and the incredible volunteers who make events like this possible."
