City of Fort Saskatchewan Releases Draft Parkland Bylaw for Review
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is updating its Parkland Bylaw (C5-26), previously known as Open Space Bylaw No. 1952. The bylaw, originally created in 1984 and amended in 1991 and 1994, has not been updated in over 30 years. The bylaw is being modernized to reflect current park uses, environmental standards, and municipal regulations.
The draft bylaw is now available for review. Comments can be submitted online until May 15, 2026 at fortsask.ca/ParklandBylaw.
Key updates in the draft Parkland Bylaw include:
-
Updated definitions: Reflect contemporary park uses, mobility devices, and environmental considerations
-
Park access: Open 6:00 am – 11:00 pm. Trails remain open 24 hours to support community mobility, commuting, and safe passage
-
