Review the Parkland Bylaw Draft
The Fort Saskatchewan Parkland Bylaw (know as the Open Space Bylaw No. 1952) was last updated over 30 years ago. The City is modernizing the bylaw to reflect current park uses, environmental standards, and municipal regulations. The draft Parkland Bylaw can be reviewed below, and feedback is open until May 15.

Updated definitions: Reflect contemporary park uses, mobility devices, and environmental considerations

Park access: Open 6:00 am – 11:00 pm. Trails remain open 24 hours to support community mobility, commuting, and safe passage

Permitted & restricted activities: Clearly define alcohol use, camping, structures, and other modern park issues

Protection of parks & trees: Strengthened environmental and tree-protection measures, including authorization and cost recovery for removals

Vehicles: Updated rules for micromobility devices and miniature vehicles

Encroachment: New provisions to manage private landscaping, structures, and storage on parkland

Fee schedule: Modernized and consistent with current City practices
