Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB)

The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) is an independent, quasi-judicial body established by City Council that hears appeals from people who have been affected by a decision of the Development Authority under the Land Use Bylaw and the Subdivision Authority under the Subdivision Authority Bylaw.

Membership

The board is appointed by City Council and consists of citizens living in the City of Fort Saskatchewan.

Appeal Hearings and SDAB's Role

Once all requirements are met and a valid appeal is filed, the SDAB will preside over the hearing. Procedures on conducting an appeal hearing will be provided to Board members.

During this hearing, the SDAB will take into account the submissions by both the appellant and/or applicant and the development authority.

SDAB's decisions are final and cannot be overturned, unless the board makes an error in some aspect of law or jurisdiction.

All SDAB Hearings will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall (10005-102 Street) unless otherwise indicated.
