Sacred Crowns – Adornment with Intention

Explore Sacred Crowns – Adornment with Intention by Fort Saskatchewan artist Kerry McKinlay with her daughter, Mercedees Deacon. The exhibition features Kerry’s one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted fedoras alongside Mercedees’ handcrafted jewelry inspired by nature and ancestry.

Meet the artists on Saturday, August 22, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, and during most events.

ESO Outdoors Concert

Enjoy an evening of live orchestral music in Legacy Park!

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra returns to Fort Sask for its ESO Outdoors concert series.

The Village Social: An Alberta Day Celebration

Step back in time and celebrate Alberta Day

Join us for The Village Social on Saturday, August 29, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Fort Heritage Precinct.

Inspired by the old-fashioned community fairs and socials that once brought neighbours together, this free family event will feature a petting zoo, blacksmith demonstrations, square dancing, an egg toss and other traditional field games, historic village buildings open with interpreters, free popcorn and more.

Bring the whole family and enjoy an afternoon of heritage, hands-on activities and community spirit while celebrating Alberta's history, cultures and people.

Sheep Leaving Parade

It’s that bittersweet time of year. Fort Saskatchewan’s beloved turf-trimming sheep are getting ready to head home for the season, and you’re invited to send them off!

Date: Monday, September 7
Location: Fort Heritage Precinct (10006 – 100 Avenue)

11:00 am: Arrive
11:15 am: Opening remarks and safety briefing
11:30 am: Parade begins
Noon - 1:00 pm: Feed the sheep carrots

Come for the parade or arrive around noon to feed the sheep. The City will provide enough carrots for everyone!

For a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow directions from event staff and sheep handlers, stay behind the flock, and keep dogs leashed. The parade is rain or shine unless severe weather is imminent.

Public Open House

Larkspur Neighbourhood Structure Plan

The Larkspur NSP is located in the City’s southeast, within the Southfort ASP area (a statutory plan that provides direction for the detailed NSP).

The Open House will provide an opportunity to view displays, ask questions and provide comments before the NSP is presented to Council for First Reading. Project representatives from the Qualico Communities
team will be on hand to answer questions.

Safely dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics at Recycling Round-Up.

Bring items like aerosol cans, gasoline, cleaning solvents, paint, tires, household chemicals, and more to the Public Works Yard (11121‒88 Avenue) for safe, environmentally friendly disposal.

There’s still time to register for fall programs at the Dow Centennial Centre!

Choose from fitness classes like Mat Pilates, Beginner TRX, Spin and Fit Cross Fusion, plus try one of our new running programs, Strong Start or Stride & Strength.
