Legacy Park Family Festival is Baaack!
Sponsored by Keyera
Fort Saskatchewan’s signature summer kick-off returns on Saturday, June 6 as the Legacy Park Family Festival welcomes residents and visitors for a full day of fun, entertainment, and community spirit. The festival runs from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm in Downtown Fort Saskatchewan and, of course, marks the return of the community’s beloved sheep.
Now a cherished annual tradition, the Legacy Park Family Festival brings together families, community groups, and local performers for a vibrant celebration to start the summer season. The City extends its thanks to Keyera for their continued support as presenting sponsor, marking over 30 years of partnership.
“Events like the Legacy Park Family Festival bring people together and showcase what makes Fort Saskatchewan such a welcoming and connected community,” said Mayor Lisa Makin. “From the return of the sheep to the incredible local talent and activities for all ages, this festival is a true reflection of our community spirit. We look forward to seeing everyone out to celebrate.”
Festival Activities:
Bring the family down to enjoy a wide range of activities, including inflatables, food trucks, a petting zoo, caricature artists, face painting, and interactive experiences for all ages. Community groups and organizations will also be on-site with engaging booths, offering activities and sharing the important work they do in Fort Saskatchewan.
YouthFest Activities:
The festival continues its partnership with YouthFest, providing opportunities for youth to showcase their creativity through art displays, community projects, an art walk, and hands-on activities. From visual arts to interactive experiences, there is plenty to explore and enjoy.
Chalk Art Contest:
The Chalk Art Contest returns in partnership with YouthFest, inviting artists of all ages to transform the CN Station parking lot into a colourful outdoor gallery, with dedicated categories for Youth, Emerging Artists, Advanced Artists, and Family to ensure everyone can take part.
Stage Performances:
The Legacy Park Bandshell will once again feature a full lineup of local performers, including Dance Moves III, students from Erin Gott Vocal Studios, Sheeptown Players, Shamrock Irish Dance, theatre performances from St. John Paul II Catholic School and Rudolph Hennig Junior High, and Harold Reichstein. This year’s headliner is Beppie (Stephanie Nhan), a two-time JUNO-nominated children’s musician and educator from Edmonton. Her high-energy, interactive performances blend music, storytelling, and humour to create an engaging experience for kids and families alike. A Western Canadian Music Award winner and International Songwriting Competition finalist, Beppie’s shows inspire creativity, connection, and plenty of movement.
Sheep Return Parade:
The Sheep Return Parade remains a festival highlight, welcoming Fort Saskatchewan’s most famous residents back for the season. Residents are encouraged to find a spot along the route between Legacy Park and the Warden’s House to give the sheep a warm community welcome.
Legacy Park is located in Downtown Fort Saskatchewan at 101 Street and 100 Avenue. For more information, visit fortsask.ca/FamilyFestival.
