Mobile Vending

Mobile vending provides flexible, convenient food and retail services across Fort Saskatchewan. Mobile Vendors are permitted at Special Events, on commercially zoned private property, and on City property with the applicable Mobile Vending Licence. There are different requirements dependent on your operating location. All Mobile Vendors are required to obtain the following:

  1. City of Fort Saskatchewan mobile/temporary cooking operation inspection, or equivalent, if applicable.

  2. Alberta Food Handling Permit, if applicable.

Special Events

Are you wanting to operate at a Special Event like the Farmers Market, Family Festival, or Canada Day? No licence is required; however, you will need written permission from the event organizer. Contact our Culture and Recreation team at specialevents@fortsask.ca.

Commercial or Private Property

Mobile Vendors are permitted to operate on commercially zoned private property, as long as permission has been granted by the landowner. Mobile Vendors are required to hold a valid business licence as per the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s Business Licence Bylaw.

City Property

Mobile Vending is permitted on certain City properties with the applicable Mobile Vending Licence. Mobile Vendors can operate at certain locations up to 5 consecutive days, or 5 days within a 30-day period. An additional requirement for operating on City property is confirmation of a minimum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) of general comprehensive liability insurance.
