Leisure Guide

The City of Fort Saskatchewan offers a wide range of programs and lessons for residents of all ages.

We print and distribute three program guides each year; Spring/Summer, Fall and Winter. Guides are also available at all City facilities and can be viewed online below.

Program Guides

DCC Programs and Drop-in Schedules

  • Fitness Centre is open for drop in activities and personal training
  • Indoor and outdoor fitness classes will start in July
  • Gymnasium, Soccer Field, and Flex Hall are open for rentals and drop in activities
  • Dow Centennial Centre Arena is open for rentals 7 days per week. Please email Bookings or call 780-992-6266 for availability.

All AHS guidelines and Health Orders will be followed:

  • Distancing and masking requirements remain in effect for Stage 2
  • Indoor social gatherings are prohibited
  • Fees will be back according to the fees and charges bylaw
  • Monthly and annual memberships will be available and can be reinstated on your first visit to the facility
  • Hand sanitizer has been made available at all facilities

Registration will open for all programs in July and August on June 23, 2021 at 8am.

Online registration is strongly encouraged to secure your spot. Please fill out any applicable forms and prompts upon registration.

Please note the following changes:

  • All classes will run at half capacity. For Preschool up to and including Swim Kids 4, there will be 3 spots available. For Swim Kids 5-10, there will be 4 spots available.
  • Preschool levels through to Swim Kids 4 will require one parent or guardian (14 years of age or older) to enter the water each class to assist with physical distancing, and safety. It is encouraged that the same parent/guardian attend each lesson.
  • Swim Kids 5-10 will not require a parent or guardian to be in the water.
  • At this time spectators are allowed in the facility but must maintain 2m physical distancing, however limited seating is available on deck and in the lobby. Individuals under 8 years old are required to have a caregiver with them on the pool deck for the duration of their lesson. All caregivers must wear a mask or face covering wile in the facility and on the pool deck.
  • Lessons no longer include a designated parent’s day.
  • If multiple children from the same family/household are registered in the same lesson only one parent or guardian is required in the water.
  • Leadership programs will be offered at half the participants to accommodate spacing.
  • Caregivers that are assisting and or/ attending lessons must remain masked for the duration of the lesson, regardless of where they are (in the water or anywhere in the building)

Please arrive to your lessons no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled start time, and both parents and kids are required to come dressed in your swim attire, ready to participate. We encourage goggle use for all participants. After the lesson is completed, please exit through the universal change room, and wherever possible, change back into your clothing once at home.

We will not be accepting progress cards at this time. If your child has previously completed items for the level they are currently registered in, please take a picture or scan a copy of the items along with your child’s name, registered level, and course code and send it in an email to harbourpool@fortsask.ca and we will pass the information along to the instructor.
