Rainfall Update

The rain has slowed, and residents can now resume regular water use. Thank you for reducing non-essential water usage. Your support helped us manage increased demands on the wastewater system during this period.

While conditions are improving, City crews continue to respond to areas affected by the recent rainfall, including:

  • Pumping water from flooded locations, including some downtown back alleys and the pond south of Henderson Park
  • Addressing water over the roadway on Greenfield Bend, which remains closed until further notice

Residents are also asked to avoid the following areas until they have had a chance to drain and dry:

  • The disc golf course
  • Single-use and mountain bike trails within the River Valley
  • Trails along Ross Creek
  • Sports fields

Staying off these areas helps keep residents safe, prevents damage, and allows crews time to assess and address any impacts.

Aquatic Leaders in Training

Start Your Lifeguarding Journey

Start your lifeguarding journey with the Aquatic Leaders in Training (AQ LIT) program.

Designed for youth ages 13 and up, this program builds real job skills, leadership experience, and confidence. Applicants must be at least 15 to participate in AQ LIT. Gain volunteer hours, receive a letter of experience, and take your first step toward a rewarding career in aquatics.

How it works:

Step 1:

Complete Bronze Medallion, Intermediate First Aid & Bronze Cross

Step 2:

Apply for AQ LIT (ages 15+)

Step 3:

Complete 65 hours of experience

Step 4:

Complete a written application, cultural-fit interview, and in-water assessment

Step 5:

Receive a letter of experience

Step 6:

Five candidates are selected for sponsored lifeguard certifications
