Celebrating Local Creativity: 2026 Art in Public Places Winners

Fort Sask celebrated local art on April 14 with the unveiling of the 2026 Art in Public Places Program winners at the Alberta Lottery Fund Art Gallery.

This year’s Student Category winner is 15-year-old Sloane Riendeau for Serenity, a painting that uses light and colour to reflect the range of emotions we experience.

In the Adult Category, Glen Christenson was selected for Seven for a Secret Never to be Told, a kinetic piece inspired by magpies and our shared connection to the natural world, designed to shift and reveal new perspectives over time.

The Art in Public Places Program continues to support local artists while adding meaningful, lasting pieces to the community.
