National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Join the City on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Take part in a drum-led community walk, bringing residents together in a spirit of learning, remembrance and reflection. Participants are encouraged to wear orange.

Fire Prevention Week Open House

SwimAbilities® is a specialized learn-to-swim program for children ages 3–16 with special needs. No formal diagnosis is required. Caregivers participate in the water while certified instructors help build water safety, confidence, and independence in a supportive, sensory-friendly environment.

2027 Art in Public Places Program

Fort Saskatchewan artists are invited to submit their work for the 2027 Art in Public Places Program.

The annual program celebrates local talent and helps grow the City’s public art collection.

Quick facts:

Open to Fort Saskatchewan residents
Artwork must have been completed within the last three years
Adult and Student categories are available
A variety of media are welcome
A minimum 300 dpi photo and completed submission form are required

Public Hearing Notice

Redistricting Lands to Heavy Industrial Development (Bylaws C32-26, C33-26 and C34-26)

The City of Fort Saskatchewan Council will hold a Public Hearing for Bylaw C32-26, a proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw C23-20 to enable heavy industrial development. The subject site is located along the eastern boundary of the City, south of Veterans Way (Highway 15) and existing heavy industrial lands, as shown on the Location Map.

Public Hearings will also be held for Bylaw C33-26 and Bylaw C34-26, which will amend the Josephburg Road North Industrial Area Structure Plan and the Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Area Structure Plan to facilitate Heavy Industrial development on the subject site.

Proposal Details:

15.28ha (37.76ac) of land from IR – Industrial Reserve District to IH – Heavy Industrial District;
5.28ha (13.05ac) of land from IR – Industrial Reserve District to PR – Parks and Recreation District; and
8.04ha (19.87ac) of land from IR – Industrial Reserve District to PS – Public Service District.
