Taxes and Property Assessment

Have you purchased a property in the City of Fort Saskatchewan in the last 6 months?

If YES, you are probably already aware of the significant delay at the Alberta Land Titles office. Consequently, we are not receiving notification about the transfer of land/properties until approximately 4 months after the transaction has been complete, and sometimes even longer. This will mean that we are not able to issue Assessment Notices and Taxation Notices to a new owner until we have received notification. Alternatively, if you provide the City with a letter from your lawyer confirming the transfer of title date, address of the property, registered owners’ names, and mailing address, we will be able to update our records.

Please note: It is the responsibility of the property owner to contact the City for their tax information if they did not receive a property tax notice. Not receiving a tax notice (or losing a tax notice) is not accepted as a reason for late payment. Property tax notices were sent on May 25, 2023. Due date for Property Taxes is June 30, 2023.
