Our outdoor natural ice rinks consist of the WRE Skating Loop, three boarded rinks, and nine snowbank rinks. Rinks are intended for casual users only and not organized team activities. Parent/Guardian participation is highly encouraged during all time slots. Ice maintenance and snow removal are performed outside of the posted hours below. In the case of continuing snowfall occurring outside regular maintenance time - please be cooperative with staff to enable them to clear the ice. Public change rooms are located at the Mowat, RCMP and Lesley Macmillan outdoor rink locations. The Lesley Macmillan change room is not yet available to public. Keep safe - stay off the ponds! Ponds are primarily for flood control and water quality improvements. Storm water ponds have a constant flow of water, which causes ice to form in unstable conditions over the winter months. The water may not freeze completely solid, therefore all storm water ponds are extremely unsafe for skating. Visit a safe snowbank rink or outdoor boarded rink that is maintained by the City of Fort Saskatchewan. We recommend that all rink users wear appropriate safety equipment. |
