Christmas Tree Collection
Christmas trees are collected curbside each January on your waste collection day.
The following rules apply:
- Natural trees only.
- All tinsel and decorations must be removed.
- Trees must be left at curbside unwrapped, not placed in a tarp or a bag.
Trees can also be dropped off at the Transfer + Eco Station during operational hours.
Extra Yard Waste Pickup
For two weeks every spring and fall we will collect all your extra yard waste.
- Extra yard waste must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags (found at most hardware stores) and placed out for collection by 7am on collection day. Yard waste in plastic or biodegradable bags will not be collected.
- Yard waste items include (but are not limited to) grass, leaves, small twigs/branches, waste from fruit-bearing trees and garden trimmings.
- If it is your cart collection week, these bags can be set out in addition to your other carts.
Household Large Item Pickup
For one week every spring, households may set out up to two large or heavy items (refrigerator, mattress, couch, etc.) for curbside collection.
Before setting out your items, please note the following:
- Remove or tie down doors and lids on fridges and freezers. Make sure the coolant system is not damaged or leaking.
- Freon must be removed from all items.
- Drain all small engine equipment (e.g. lawnmowers) of oil. Remove the fuel tank.
- Bundle and tie wood waste, carpet, and cardboard in pieces 4' long.
- If you live in an apartment or condominium, place your items near your building's front-load waste bin. Or, your property manager may choose another location.
The following items are NOT accepted:
- Dirt and rocks
- Propane tanks
- Construction/Demolition/Renovation Materials
- Fences or Decks or Shingles
- Drywall, cupboards, etc.
Some materials not accepted may be taken at the Transfer + Eco Station. Fees may apply.
