Roads Maintenance

From snow clearing and pothole repairs to traffic calming and road maintenance, the City works year-round to keep Fort Saskatchewan’s streets safe and accessible. Find information about current road work, maintenance programs, and how we manage seasonal changes on local roads.

Curbs & Sidewalks

Report damaged curbs or sidewalks through Fort Report.

Signs & Signals

Use Fort Report to report:

  • Removed or vandalized traffic signs
  • Burnt out or malfunctioning traffic signals
  • Damaged poles on traffic lights or pedestrian signals

Please include a detailed location to help crews respond quickly.

Streetlights

If a streetlight needs repair:

Street Sweeping

Seasonal street sweeping helps keep roads clean and safe by removing debris and preventing pollution.

What to Know:

  • No Parking signs are posted at least 72 hours before sweeping begins
  • Vehicles parked on signed streets may be ticketed or towed
  • Remove curb ramps and objects from streets before sweeping
  • Residents are encouraged to sweep winter sand onto the road before operations begin

Report concerns through Fort Report.

Snow Clearing

Sanding begins when roads become slippery, with priority given to intersections, hills, and curves. Residential streets are serviced based on a priority map and weather conditions.

Temporary Road Right-of-Way Signs

Community organizations must apply for a permit to place temporary signs on City road right-of-ways.
