The City understands there may be times when making your monthly utility bill payments on time may be difficult. We would like to work with you to ensure there are no interruptions to service at your property. Please complete the Payment Arrangement Request Form, and one of our Utility Clerks will be in touch to confirm approved arrangements with you.

Sign in to your Virtual City Hall account to pay bills or see account details.
Set Up, Move, or Close Account
Please provide 5 working days' notice to the Utility Billing Department before services are connected or disconnected.
You can also download the appropriate form and submit it by email to utilityclerk@fortsask.ca
Moving?
- Utility account numbers are linked to the property address, NOT the customer name.
- If you move to a new property in Fort Saskatchewan, your account number will change.
- If you pay your bill online or by telephone banking, please update your new utility account number with your financial institution.
To change the mailing address for an account that is in your name and not being closed, please return the completed Change of Mailing Address Form to utilityclerk@fortsask.ca.
Sign up for e-Billing
Sign up for utility e-Billing to receive your bills through email.
Residents who choose to continue with paper billing will be charged a fee of $1.60 per bill for the printing and mailing of paper utility bills.
Residents who do not have access to home internet and would like to apply for an exemption to the fee for a paper copy of the monthly utility bill, please complete the Utility e-Billing Exemption Application Form.
Billing & Payments
Your utility bill includes water, sewer, and solid waste. Your monthly utility bill will be sent out at the beginning of the month and will be due the last day of each month.
Note: If you have not received your bill within seven days of the send-out date, please contact the Utility Department.
Make a Payment

Through your Financial Institution (Online, Telephone Banking, or In Person)
- Make sure you have the proper payee and account number before submitting your payment.
- Your seven digit account number is your account number.
- To avoid late charges, allow seven days for processing.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

The Fort Electronic Payment Plan (FEPP) is a convenient way to pay your taxes and utility bills.

By Phone
- Pay by phone using VISA or MasterCard at 780-992-6228. Please have your account information ready before calling.

In Person at a City Facility
- Cash, cheque, or debit (please ensure your daily limit is sufficient).
- Credit cards or credit card cheques are not accepted for tax payments when paying in person.

- Mail your cheque, payable to City of Fort Saskatchewan, and enclose the remittance portion of your utility bill to:

After Hours
- Use the City Hall Drop Box located at the top of the exterior front stairs.
Overdue Payments
Utility bill payments must be received on or before the due date indicated on your bill. A 2.5% penalty is applied to outstanding accounts. Failure to pay your utility bill may result in a service disconnection.
Utility Disconnection Notices
Accounts 60 days past due will receive a notice of disconnection. A fee applies to disconnection warning notices.
If your water services are disconnected, there will be additional fees and charges that will apply and must be paid along with the outstanding balance on your account prior to services being restored.
Rental Properties
Renters cannot set up new utility accounts.
All residential utility accounts must be set up in the registered owners name.
If you have a rental property in Fort Saskatchewan please be aware that:
- All new utility accounts are held in the property owner's name only.
- It is the property owner's responsibility to ensure balances are paid.
- Management companies must complete the Management Company Authorization Form to receive the utility bill.
