Special Event Permits

Planning an outdoor event in Fort Saskatchewan? A Special Event Permit helps ensure your event is safe, well-coordinated, and enjoyable for participants, volunteers, and the public.

When is a permit required?

An Outdoor Special Event Permit may be required for events held on City property, public spaces, roadways, parks, trails, or other outdoor locations within Fort Saskatchewan.

If you are unsure whether your event requires a permit, contact specialeventpermits@fortsask.ca before applying.

Before you apply

Before starting your application, please ensure you have:

• Venue booked (if required)
• Completed site map
• Event details and schedule
• Any required permits and supporting documents
• Certificate of Insurance – $2 million in General Liability and the City of Fort Saskatchewan added as additional insured

Note: You may not be able to return to a partially completed application later. We recommend gathering all required information and documents before starting.

Apply for an Outdoor Special Event Permit

• Applications must be submitted at least 28 days before your event date.

• If all required forms are not completed and returned a minimum of 28 days prior to your event, a late processing fee of $70.00 will apply.

• Submitting an application form does not guarantee approval.
