Public Hearings

To allow for new development or redevelopment, Council will consider redistricting applications in order to apply new regulations to a site. All property owners have the right to make an application to change their zoning. Anyone who feels they may be affected by the proposal has the right to voice their opinion through the planning process.

Current applications

Southfort Meadows Stage 7 Rezoning (Bylaw C12-21)

An application to rezone lands in the Southfort Meadows neighbourhood has been submitted by Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. on behalf of Southfort Development Corp. The application rezones lands from:

  • UR - Urban Reserve District to R1 - Single Detached Residential District,
  • UR - Urban Reserve District to PR - Parks and Recreation District.

Bylaw C12-21 Schedule A

The R1 - Single Detached Residential District provides for single-detached housing. The R1 District would be applied to 1.04 ha (2.57 ac) of lands.

The PR - Parks & Recreation District is being applied to a 0.02 ha (200m2) lot. This lot will provide a trail connection from Hummingbird Crescent to the storm water ponds to the north.

Due to COVID19 physical distancing practices, public council meetings are held on the Webex platform and live streamed on the City's YouTube channel.
