Public Hearings

To allow for new development or redevelopment, Council will consider redistricting applications in order to apply new regulations to a site. All property owners have the right to make an application to change their zoning. Anyone who feels they may be affected by the proposal has the right to voice their opinion through the planning process.

Below are applications that are currently being considered or were recently approved by Council.

If you have questions about an application, please contact Planning & Development Services.

Current applications

Southfort Meadows Stage 9 Redistricting - Bylaw C22-22

An application to rezone approximately 5.9 hectares (14.6 acres) of lands in the Southfort neighbourhood has been submitted by Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. on behalf of Southfort Development Corp. The application aligns with the City’s approved statutory plans. This application will rezone lands from:

  • UR – Urban Reserve District to R1 – Single Detached Residential District, and
  • UR – Urban Reserve District to RC – Comprehensively Planned Residential District.

Bylaw C22-22 Schedule A

The R1 – Single Detached Residential District allows for low density single detached residential housing.

The RC – Comprehensively Planned Residential District allows for low density residential housing. The purpose of the RC District is to accommodate a range and an appropriate distribution of housing forms that allow for more efficient utilization of land while encouraging diversity of built forms within a low density setting.

Public council meetings are held in person at City Hall and live streamed on YouTube. (youtube.com/CityFortSask).
