Public Hearings

To allow for new development or redevelopment, Council will consider redistricting applications in order to apply new regulations to a site. All property owners have the right to make an application to change their zoning. Anyone who feels they may be affected by the proposal has the right to voice their opinion through the planning process.

Southfort ASP Amendment - Bylaw C5-23

The City is proposing changes to the Southfort Area Structure Plan (ASP). The Southfort ASP provides a framework for the land use planning, transportation access, utility servicing, and population projections for the Southfort neighbourhood. The proposed changes are within the undeveloped lands of the Plan area. Refer to the location map.

The proposed changes to the ASP include removing an optional road that would extend Greenfield Way to Highway 21, subsequently reconfiguring the commercial designation along HWY 21, and facilitating a more efficient transportation network in the southeast portion.

Southfort Highway Lands Rezoning - Bylaw C7-23

A Public Hearing for Bylaw C7-23 to rezone lands along the highway in Southfort. The application will rezone lands from Urban Reserve (UR) to Commercial Retail and Service District (C2). The C2 District would be applied to 2.72 hectares (6.72 acres) of land.

The C2 – Commercial Retail and Service District is to provide for the development of high-quality commercial such as retail stores, restaurants, and services, with a primary focus on organized growth along major roads and transportation routes.
