Public Hearings

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is a beautiful place, full of character, community, and history. As we grow, we want to ensure that new buildings, neighbourhoods, and businesses reflect what makes our city special, while meeting the needs of the future.

To support thoughtful development, City Council holds Public Hearings to gather community input on proposed land use changes, including redistricting applications. All property owners have the right to apply for zoning changes, and anyone who may be affected is encouraged to share their feedback. Public Hearings are a key part of the planning process, helping ensure decisions reflect the needs and values of our community.

If you have questions about an application, please contact Planning & Development Services.

Current applications

In August 2025, Council directed Administration to update the street-oriented development policies within the City’s Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and the Roseburn Area Structure Plan (ASP). Administration has prepared these amendments to provide clarity for the consideration of street-oriented development along collector and arterial streets. The proposed changes will ensure that street-oriented development is considered on a case-by-case basis to maintain the safety and functionality of the city’s roads.

Details of the Proposal:
