Where can I put the hot tub or swimming pool?

In most residential neighbourhoods, you can place your hot tub or pool as close as 1.0 m from your rear and side property lines.

If you live in our Residential Estate Lot (RE) district, you can place your hot tub or pool as close as 2.0 m from your rear and side property lines.

If you want to add diving boards or slides, they must also meet those distances.

Please do not place your hot tub or pool over or on any easements or utility right-of-way.

What else do I require to have a hot tub or swimming pool?

You will need either:

• a fence that is 1.8 m (6.0 ft) tall that can't be climbed, or
• a lockable cover that can support an adult.

Types of permits required for hot tubs and swimming pools

As part of your application, you will need to submit:

• Application forms
• Site plan showing where you want to place the hot tub or pool, with distances to property lines and buildings on your property
