Do I need a permit for demolition?
Demolishing any building or structure with a gross floor area of 10.0 m² or larger requires a Development Permit and a Building Permit. These permits can be applied for together or separately.
As part of your application, you will need to submit:
- Application forms
- Demolition site plans showing the location, dimensions, outline, and name of the building or structure being demolished. This can be based on a Real Property Report (RPR).
- Estimated value of the building(s) or structure(s) being demolished
Applicants should review the applicable section of the Land Use Bylaw, which outlines regulations and requirements for demolition activity across all land use districts.
Fees
We price permits using the Fees & Charges Bylaw.
