File Search Request (Search of Records)
Looking for property records in Fort Saskatchewan? Submit a File Search Request to access development and construction files, permits, inspections, drawings, and environmental records for your property.
Note: Employee names, business contact details, and personal information related to municipal business, activities, and expenditures may only be disclosed through an Access to Information request, not through a routine record search.
Application Requirements and Process
- Processing time is approximately 10–15 business days.
- You will be notified of the search cost. Payment must be made within 30 days of notification. If payment is not received, the application will be cancelled and a new application will be required.
Fees and Payment
- Fees are set according to the current Fee Schedule.
- Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional Searches: Fees are paid before the search begins.
No refunds if the requested documentation is not on file. - Residential Searches: You will be notified of the cost after the search is complete.
- Payments can be made by calling Planning and Development at 780‑992‑6198 or in person at City Hall (lower level).
Search Request Requirements
- Requests must be made by the landowner or an authorized agent.
- Agents must provide an authorization letter from the landowner.

- Records are retained according to legislation and industry standards; however, not all records are guaranteed to be available due to varying retention schedules.
