Councillor Arjun Randhawa

Councillor Arjun Randhawa is a two-term City Councillor for the City of Fort Saskatchewan, bringing together experience in global Fortune 100 corporate strategy, municipal government, and small business to his work on Council.

Born in Canada and raised in Fort Saskatchewan, Arjun attended Fort Saskatchewan High School and continues to proudly call the community his home with his wife, Jasleen, and their Chocolate Lab, Dude. With his extensive education, global experience, and deep local roots, Arjun brings fresh leadership and a proven track record of success to the city’s most significant challenges. 

Arjun’s path into public service began at a young age. At just 20 years old, he launched a grassroots campaign that led to his election as one of the youngest politicians in Canada. From 2013 to 2017, he served on Council, championing initiatives focused on fiscal responsibility, transparency, community safety, and inclusive access to recreation. In 2017, he ran for Mayor, earning more than 40 percent of the vote. 

Before returning to public service, Arjun spent five years with American Express in London, UK, where he served as Chief of Staff and Director, leading business planning and strategy for a ~400person organization operating across more than 20 international markets. He also worked as a Senior Manager with Enterprise Strategy, American Express’s internal management consulting and corporate strategy group, where he led enterprise wide initiatives and partnered with business units on solving complex global problems, driving strategic transformation, and designing clearer, more effective operating models. In addition to his corporate background, Arjun has worked in his family’s hospitality business, giving him practical insight into entrepreneurship and the day-to-day realities facing small business owners. 

Arjun is an alumnus of the University of Alberta, Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge, holding a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) respectively. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong foundation in strategy, finance, public policy, and governance — strengthened by hands-on global experience across multiple countries. 

Despite his international work and education, Arjun’s heart has always remained in Fort Saskatchewan. He and his family have a deep love for the Fort, cherishing its strong sense of community and vibrant spirit. He is committed to helping the city reach its full potential, ensuring a bright future for all its residents.
