Councillor Gordon Harris
Councillor Gordon Harris was first elected to Fort Saskatchewan City Council in October 2017 and has continued to serve following re-elections in October 2021 and October 2025.
Gordon brings more than 36 years of experience in municipal government and management consulting to Council. Over the course of his career, he worked closely with municipalities across Canada, supporting elected officials and senior leadership teams in addressing complex community development challenges and identifying practical, long-term solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Business Administration in strategic management, along with Certified Management Consultant and Certified Change Manager designations. He has also completed a range of municipal certifications through his work in municipal administration.
Gordon and his wife, Judy, have lived in Fort Saskatchewan since 1996. They raised their son and daughter in the community, both of whom have gone on to successful careers in the technology and health care sectors. Gordon is a strong supporter of Fort Saskatchewan’s cultural and recreational amenities, including the Dow Centennial Centre and the North Saskatchewan River Valley trail network.
Since joining Council, Gordon has represented the City on numerous municipal and regional boards and committees, including the River Valley Alliance, Intermunicipal Relations Committee with Strathcona County, Arrow Utilities, Capital Region Northeast Water Services Commission, Edmonton Metropolitan Regional Board (Alternate), Edmonton Global (Alternate), Fort Saskatchewan Library Board, Edmonton Metropolitan Regional Transit Services Commission, and the Edmonton Region Waste Minimization Committee.
